Join me for a pleasant paddle on Watauga Lake near Hampton, since my original Wilbur Lake plan was thwarted by bridge construction. We will depart from the Watauga Dam Boat Ramp at 9:30am and likely recreate the first club paddle when we obtained our fleet back in 2023, roughly 2 miles each way to an island with a beach area. We could also explore other areas, so ultimately based off the group’s choice. Beginners or first-time paddlers welcome! The club will transport our boats (6 sit-in, 3 sit-on, 1 canoe), PFDs, and paddles to location, so all you need to bring is water, snacks, and any other supplies you might want (sunscreen, etc.). Please indicate your boat type preference on the form if you have one. I believe there are restrooms at the Visitor Center a little further down Wilbur Dam Road from the put-in.
