Donations to the TEHCC are directed to maintenance of the Appalachian Trail since they are typically given in appreciation of the hours of volunteers’ time ensuring the simple footpath is open. Examples of fund use are purchasing supplies to install and repair bridges, keeping a small fleet of chainsaws in working condition and supplied with oil, and updating current directional and informational signs along the path.
TEHCC is NOT a nonprofit organization, but a recreation club of Eastman Chemical Company with designated responsibility for 134 miles of the A.T. along the NC/TN border. Trail maintenance is primarily accomplished by a contingent, roughly 220 total, of company active employees and retirees plus many other valuable volunteers who live in the region.
The most straightforward method of donation is to send a check made out to “TEHCC c/o Eastman Recreation Club” to:

Another donation method, using a credit card, is to call the Eastman Recreation Center front desk in Kingsport at (423) 229-3771. The club currently does not have the digital infrastructure to support on-line donations.
A written acknowledgement will be provided for every donation within 6-8 weeks from one of the Steering Committee members.
