Join the Tennessee Eastman Hiking and Canoeing Club for an easy hike around Bays Mountain Lake. This lovely trail explores the shores of the Kingsport Reservoir. It is quite hilly and crosses over the lake with several nice bridges along the way. The terrain is well-maintained, and there are a few exposed tree roots to watch out for. We will have an optional addition to the Fire Tower. I recommend bringing plenty of water. You do not need to be a member of TEHCC to join this hike – this is for folks new to the area to introduce them to some of the classic East Tennessee hikes.

Fire Tower trail (includes lakeside trail as well): 5.2 mi, ~2.5 hours, moderate

I have a Bays Mountain membership, so I can drive up to 4 more people into the park. Let me know if you are interested in that – first come, first served. Otherwise, I do recommend carpooling.
