Rating: Easy/Medium 3.6-mile round-trip hike with 800’ climb
We will be hiking uphill from the parking area to White Rock. White Rock is an overlook just south of Johnson City. The hike will mostly be in shade so we should avoid any significant heat. We will plan on meeting at the Buffalo Mountain Parking area (which can be found as “Buffalo Mountain Park Trailhead” in Google Maps) at 9 AM. If there is any desire to carpool from Kingsport or other areas, let the hike leader know and it can be coordinated. We will be done with the hike in time to be back in Johnson City for lunch. There is also a picnic area at the parking area so if you want to bring a lunch to enjoy, that is a great option!
