  3.6-mile round-trip hike with 800’ climb\n\nWe will be hiking uphill fr
 om the parking area to White Rock. White Rock is an overlook just south of
  Johnson City. The hike will mostly be in shade so we should avoid any sig
 nificant heat. We will plan on meeting at the Buffalo Mountain Parking are
 a (which can be found as “Buffalo Mountain Park Trailhead” in Google M
 aps) at 9 AM. If there is any desire to carpool from Kingsport or other ar
 eas\, let the hike leader know and it can be coordinated. We will be done 
 with the hike in time to be back in Johnson City for lunch. There is also 
 a picnic area at the parking area so if you want to bring a lunch to enjoy
