An easy in-and-out hike (3 miles each way) along a level old gravel road around the bend in Holston River at Phipps Bend Industrial Park. Opportunity to see various waterfowl due to the adjacent wetlands and river. Carpool leaves Colonial Heights at 9:30am for the 45-minute drive. Alternatively, meet at the trailhead parking lot at 10:30am. We’ll plan on having lunch in the shade along the river and get back in the early afternoon. TEHCC.org booking system is being used to collect reservations.
