Margarette Falls offers a 60-foot drop cascade as one of the most popular waterfall trails in the area. The hike will begin at 11am at the trailhead off Shelton Mission Road. The first half-mile section of this blue-blazed trail is an easy hike on a closed Forest Service road. The remaining 0.7-mile follows Dry Creek to the waterfall. The tread on this upper section is very rough with lots of large boulders and roots – and a creek crossing.
Carpool leaves Colonial Heights at 10am for hour drive to the trailhead. We’ll plan on lunch at the falls and get back in the early afternoon. TEHCC.org booking system is being used to collect reservations.
