TEHCC has been a long-term (before 1993) cosponsor of the Kingsport Fun Fest Moonlight Hike at Bays Mountain Park. The hike begins at the dam near the Nature Center and proceeds clockwise around the lake on Lakeside and Holly trails. The club’s role is to help ensure no one gets lost. We will start in front of the public to be assigned to specific trail intersections for directing traffic along the right path. Overall, TEHCC needs 14 volunteers.
The hike officially starts at 8:00 pm (with a new moon this year so more about listening to the sounds in the forest). TEHCC volunteers will meet at the Nature Center by 7:30 pm. Please bring your own flashlight/headlamp (and spare batteries), water, insect repellant, and charged cell phone. If you are interested in volunteering or getting more information, please contact Riley who will be assembling the volunteer list. A benefit is that you will not need a FunFest event ticket to participate in this hike.
