Trail was fairly wet and soggy.  +

Trail was in great shape. Just a couple wet spots across the trail near Iron Mt. Gap  +
There were a few blowdowns and some icy sections at the higher elevations. There was still snow on the ground at roan high knob and the temperature at the shelter was 29 deg.  +
Completed out and back for Iron Mountain to Hughes Gap (1 person, 6.5 hours). Completed a point to point hike for Hugh's Gap to Carver's Gap (4 people, 4 hours). Great trail conditions for both hikes. Hughes Gap to Carver's Gap was fairly icy at that time of year.  +
About 1 mile in, there was a recently downed tree across the trail that involved some climbing over.  +

Switchbacks up short, steep climb to the namesake rock and small cave, then return closer to boat ramp. Limited views during leaf season.  +

Trails were clear and in good condition.  +
Trail in good condition considering the amount of late winter rain that has been abundant.  +
Trail looked like it has been very well traveled this summer, but a lot of work has been put in to keeping the trail in good shape.  +
Trail was in good shape. A few wet spots, but that was expected along the river. Falls were looking great.  +
