The new guides are typically published in July for the upcoming season, take the below dates as guidance only. Be aware of where hunting is allowed, such as national forests. Wear blaze orange!
Tennessee
General opening dates. Closing dates vary. Small game runs through to end of February. Big game and birds, typically for two weeks.
Restrictions vary by region, but generally applies to all public lands. Both National Forest and TVA land. Predominantly Cherokee National Forest in our area.

Virginia There is no Sunday hunting (pg. 16 of below link) except by written permission of a private landowner.

- Deer: October 3 thru January 2
