Rating: Moderate 3 mile round trip hike with ~1100 ft elevation up, and then back down
A great view of the I-26 valley and mountains to the east is enjoyed by a steep walk in this park. This hike will definitely give you a workout if you haven’t been exercising in 2014. Early wildflowers are expected along the trail. We’ll leave Colonial Heights at 1:00 pm or Johnson City at 1:20 pm to arrive at the park trailhead by 1:30 pm. Expected return is at 5 pm.

A possible hike plan for this trail could be:
F/B: Buffalo Mountain Park– White Rock Trail, Sunday
This hike will be heading up to the White Rock overlook for the great view into the I-26 valley. A 2.5 mile loop hike can be enjoyed by heading up White Rock Trail and returning on the Tower Ridge Trail. Meet in Colonial Heights at 1:00 or at the Buffalo Mountain gravel parking lot by 1:30 – expecting to finish up by 4:00. Wear appropriate clothing, particularly good hiking shoes, sun protection, and water. Call the leader with any questions.

A closer to home hike since the days are getting shorter. A steep walk up trails or the gravel access road provides a reward of great view of the I-26 valley and mountains to the east. Leave Colonial Heights at 1:00PM or Johnson City at 1:20PM to arrive at the park trailhead by 1:30PM. Expected return is before the sunset.
