Forum questions:

Should we create categories on length, maybe 1-3mi, 3-5, 5-10? So people can quickly search for length --Tim 11:29, 26 March 2011 (EDT)

So Easy/Medium/Difficult not enough? I did a 3 miler today (Grotto Falls) which others rate as Moderate due to elevation change. Is there another way to filter down by trail length? If no, then length categories sound reasonable.--Vhasler 18:12, 31 March 2011 (EDT)
The thought was time commitment. You could have an easy 1mi hike or an easy 10mi flat ground hike. The other way to indirectly get there would be hiking time but I don't think we're categorizing by that either and like difficulty is quite subjective. The root of my thought was that there are extensions that we can install that would let people search based on multiple categories simultaneously. For example one could search for trails that have all of the following categorical tags, Difficult, Dog Friendly, Tennessee, and if we had it 10-20mi. Currently you can only list/search trails by a single category at a time. If you like it feel free to make up a collection of categories and add it to the category strategy page. --Tim 21:37, 1 April 2011 (EDT)

I'm thinking of making a new infobox but for parks/trail systems. For example, it would be on the Warrior's Path State Park page. Any thoughts (yes/no, what to include/not include, etc...)? I would start from the trail one but add and remove rows as appropriate. Maybe 'miles of trails', type (state park, national forest, national park, city park, etc...), Fee,... Anyway, just thoughts --Tim 21:37, 1 April 2011 (EDT)
