 is is a class I-II river and the dam release will be 2 generators that wil
 l make big waves so Please be prepared for very cold water and wear approp
 riate gear (Non-Cotton insulating long sleeves or splash tops are recommen
 ded). If you aren't sure or need anything\, reach out and we can all bring
  extra cold-water gear. Helmets are required and bike helmets are not acc
 eptable.  Rec boats on this section of the Watauga that spray skirts don
 't fit on and if they have no float bags\, swamp with water and turn over 
 so make sure you can get a skirt on your boatbefore you come.We stop for a
  break about halfway down so don't forget your power snacks! We are usuall
 y off the water by 7:00 or so and after we get back to the Ballpark &amp\;
  transfer boats back to our vehicles by 7:30-ish. Directions: From W Elk A

 ake the first street on Left onto Ash Street. Follow that street to the en
 d and you will see the river. Turn left and pull into the small paved park
