AT – Chestoa Bridge to Nolichucky Ridge Cliff

The hike will start at the bridge across the Nolichucky river in Erwin (Google Maps title is AT Trailhead at Chestoa).  We will hike up the ridge to see the views over the Nolichucky river.  The hike is very uphill (around 1000 ft of gain), but is not overly steep due to the switchbacks cut into the ridge.  The full hike will be an in and out hike around 3.5 miles, but can be shortened if the group needs to turn around early.

The group will meet at the trailhead at 9am.  Carpooling from Kingsport/Johnson City can be arranged, just let the hike leader know if you would like to carpool.  We plan to be back to the cars with plenty of time to get home for lunch, but bring water/snacks for the hike.
