  8-10 mile hike\n\nWe will be hiking from Carvers Gap to the Overmountain 
 Shelter.  I have never made the hike to the Overmountain shelter and am l
 ooking forward to the trip in the cold weather.  I will be getting out on
  the trail early and hope to be back to the car around lunch time.   I w
 ill be leaving Kingsport around 6:30 am and will be getting to the trailhe
 ad around 8 am.  Temperatures look to be well below freezing for the hike
  so dress accordingly.  Bring snacks\, or even a light lunch and water.
