Strict A.T. portion from Hughes Gap to the intersection of the Overmountain Victory Trail is 11.5 mi.

From there, we have two options. Take the longer hike on the Overmountain Victory Trail to Hampton, or the shorter one going down Roaring Valley to the southern trail head called Yellow Mountain Gap trail head.
