Links Outside of TEHCC

While we hope you’ve found everything you need to plan a great hike on our WIKI, maybe you want to find something way out of town for the weekend or just get other options. This is a list of other sites that we have found helpful. Of course, we don’t maintain or endorse any of these sites, so like the rest of the internet use at your discretion.


Hiking Clubs

Appalachian Trail Conservancy - The governing body for the AT.

Carolina Mountain Club - A hiking club that also maintains the section of the AT to immediate south of TEHCC.

Mount Rogers Appalachian Trail Club - A hiking club that also maintains the section of the AT to immediate north of TEHCC.

Smoky Mountain Hiking Club - A hiking club that also maintains a section of the AT.

Greeneville, TN Hiking Club - A hiking club with a schedule of local hikes

Mid-Appalachian Highlands Club - promotes hiking in the Johnson City, Bristol and Kingsport areas of northeast Tennessee.

USGS TOPO Map Downloads - Mark a point on the map the pick what map sections to download. 15-25MB per map section.


Comercial Sites

EveryTrail - A Hike tracking website that plays nice with handheld GPS or smart phones. Search for hikes and see tracks and pictures. With a free registration download GPS tracks. Paid content for Phones/tablets, free over internet.

Trails.com - Access to material from published guidebooks. Paid service with free trial.
