New questions and comments:

Trails List Page[edit]

Awhile back you added two potential columns. I renamed and started populating the hike distance page. For elevation, are you really wanting the highest point or maybe elevation change? There is a hiking site for the Smokies that then adds the trail distance and elevation change (divided by some factor) to create an overall difficulty rating. Now for areas which have multiple trails, the best we probably can do is list the ranges. --Vhasler (talk) 06:21, 21 February 2015 (MST)

Which one do you think? There are fields for both on the trail pages. Would anyone come here looking for a list of trail high points? --WikiSysop (talk) 14:19, 2 April 2015 (MDT)

Question: How is a dead page deleted?[edit]

Rhododenron Gardens which was a misspelled title still needs to be removed. --Vhasler (talk) 05:12, 28 December 2013 (MST)

The redirect you put in is fine for now in case other locations and Google point to it. --WikiSysop (talk) 19:49, 12 January 2014 (MST)

City Trails[edit]

Question: Should Kingsport Greenbelt and Erwin Linear trails be added? These have been formal hikes in the past - and planned for 2014, thus could have the reference information. --Vhasler (talk) 05:12, 28 December 2013 (MST)

Sounds like a good idea! --WikiSysop (talk) 19:49, 12 January 2014 (MST)

kmls not showing on gmaps[edit]

BMP Chestnut Trail - updated kml for longer trail not appearing as green line on gmap.

WPSP Mountain Bike Trail System - Now believe that I never created and uploaded the kml. Another hike to take - Darwin's Revenge - and then also Rock City. Just focus on main paths for hiking and not worry about all bike trails.--Vhasler (talk) 05:15, 1 January 2014 (MST)

Bays Mountain Park - all kmls on main page are not showing --Vhasler (talk) 05:12, 28 December 2013 (MST)

There appears to be a limit of number of kmls, probably need to consolidate for this one. --WikiSysop (talk) 19:49, 12 January 2014 (MST)

Even older issue - Shelter:Apple House[edit]

How do we edit http://tehcc.org/clubwiki/kml/TEHCC_AT.kml to correct its waypoint about this Apple House Shelter? Also that Curley Map Gap Shelter was renovated, thus needs new information.--Vhasler 19:01, 1 August 2012 (MDT)

KML just refers to info saved on a TEHCC google account. I edited there, I haven't seen it come through yet but that's probably due to caching. --WikiSysop 19:50, 6 August 2012 (MDT)
Is this fixed?--WikiSysop 20:01, 12 December 2012 (MST)
Yes, Apple House is fixed with a new tent icon. And no, Shelter:Curley Maple Gap still has an old picture (new one available on shelter page) and reference to only sleeping 6 - now 14. For future reference, will we be able to adjust the KML to show the club section stopping at the TN/VA border? --Vhasler 15:07, 19 January 2013 (MST)
Is Curley Maple Gap now fixed? One of these days we'll move it to be a "regular" KML like the others... Regardless we should be able to edit as needed where it's at now for any trail updates. --WikiSysop 06:43, 20 February 2013 (MST)

Bear/food cable systems[edit]

A recent contact was asking about bear cables. Should we add? Do we have them anywhere? If we add, should it be an IB item? Looking for your thoughts. --WikiSysop 19:05, 16 January 2013 (MST) Per Carl, we only have a bear pole at one location: Watauga Lake Shelter. Per wiki page, in Feb 2012: Bear pole installed by Eagle Scout Seth Douthat. The year in the wiki is wrong as the project was stated as complete in several 2011 maintenance reports. As far as making it a IB item, I would say "yes" to answer that type of inquiry. Have privey as a IB field, but only have one in the entire club section.
