Trail Overview
Steep climb for overlook views of French Broad River at Weaver’s Bend.
How to get there
From Greeneville:
- Head south on TN-70 (Asheville Highway) for 9 miles.
- Turn right/west on TN-107 for 8.5 miles.
- Turn left/south on unpaved Brushy Creek Road. Warning: a narrow, winding, one lane road.
- Turn left/east on unpaved Weaver’s Bend Road.
- Travel one mile on this narrow dirt road to a large parking lot. Do not cross the railroad tracks.
- Find trailhead sign nearby to Chimney Rocks.
Route Description
The trail to Chimney Rocks begins a gate next to the railroad tracks. The path is on an old road up the ridge. The trail does have some switchbacks, but is steep climb. Along the way, enjoy the views of the French Broad River. At the top, it intersects the Paint Mountain Trail which heads off for 9.5 miles towards the campground.
Typical Conditions
Wide path also used by horses. More views are available in winter with less leaves on the trees, but recommend early spring.
