==Park Overview==
==Park Overview==
Bark Camp Lake (45 acres) was created back in the mid 50's to offer fishing opportunities, including regular stocking with rainbow trout and universally accessible fishing piers. The recreation area has campsites (some with electric hookups), picnic tables, an open air amphitheater plus two trails.  One path walks around the lake while the other is to a geological formation called “Kitchen Rock”.
Edgar Evins State Park is on the shores of Center Hill Lake. The reservoir affords many activities on and off the water.

== How to get there ==
From Kingsport, TN:
#Head north on US23 to Norton, VA (46 miles).
#Take Alt 58 East exit toward Coeburn VA.
#Follow Alt 58 East for five miles to Tacoma.
#At the stop light turn right onto SR 706 and follow to the intersection with SR 699 on the left.
#Follow SR 699 for 0.1 mile then turn right onto SR 822.
#Follow SR 822 for 2 miles to the entrance of Bark Camp Recreation Area on the right.

Map programs may also show a faster/shorter route splitting off at Gate City for VA 72 to Ft. Blackmore, then VA 680 and VA 882 to approach the park from the south.  This route is winding and travels some on gravel forest roads so consider that in your driving time.

== Fees, Hours, Restrictions ==
The park gate is closed in the winter (open June - Last Saturday in September).

$3 per vehicle day use area fee.
$20 per single campsite per night.
$40 per double campsite per night.
$5 electric hookups.

The day use fee pay station is at the kiosk near the posted parking coordinates.

For 2021 season, the campground is closed due to repair of the water system.  Does make the recreation area a quieter place to visit this year.
