Eureka Timberline Outfitter 6 Tent - Base Camp
Two Eureka! Base
Camp Outfitter 6 tents, designated HT-26 and HT-27, were purchased around
2002 or 2003. They are not all green like the picture below, but have a dark
brown bathtub bottom with green ends and fly.
The sides are a white breathable fabric.
The tent, fly, poles, and a ground cloth are stored in
a dark brown bag.
This tent new currently sells for $380 plus delivery.
At 18-19 pounds each, these tents serve
as a base or car camp for hiking in an area, but not suitable for a
backpacking tent.
Six people are only reasonable if two are parents with
small children, but tights for six adults – especially in this age of
supersizing.
Note the 8.5' x 10' floor layout shows sleeping bags
only.
Best would be four sleeping bags in a row with some space for
small gear along one side of the tent.
Even five boys with all their overnight gear would be
very crowded.
The design is a classic freestanding
A-frame on steroids, which can be set up by two people.
Not really possible to set up by one person without
stepping on the tent (please don’t), but even a child could hold upright one
set of end poles for a parent.
Make sure that you have 14 stakes before leaving
Building 310 and check the assembly instructions.
In the tent bag, there is a clear plastic sheeting to
use as a ground cloth to protect the bottom of the tent from damage.

Tent HT-26 has three areas patched with duct tape
as shown in the picture.
Two are for holes in the door netting and one is for the edge
along the door. While
not a perfect look, the patches do appear to be functional for a 5-6
year old tent.

Both tents been turned in several times
with lots of leaves and some litter.
Please take the time to make sure the tent is dry,
cleaned out, and zippers closed before folding.
Pack a small whisk broom, if necessary.
Finally, remember tents are for sleeping and not an
all-day playroom – especially on hot days.
