HB-29 is a medium-sized (3100 cubic inches) tote.
The frame
covers an 18 to 21 inch torso range
– has been used by a 13 year old just under 5’ tall.
Like HB-27, this pack has a
detachable rear pocket to carry
essentials as a daypack.
Front
panel allows access to the gear without unpacking everything.
It has pocket and port for a hydration system (not supplied by the club).
With camping gear being lighter and smaller these days, this pack would
be adequate for a lightweight weekend trip.
This backpack was obtained for the 2005 season for $190.
Marmot appears to have discontinued this specific model in 2006 with its
Diva line as a replacement.
Similar
packs would be Osprey’s Ariel and Mountain Hardwear’s Kite.
