South Beyond 6000 Patch

Last Revised: June 09, 2008

South Beyond 6000 is not an organized club as such, but rather an achievement.  The privilege of belonging is earned by climbing 40 of the highest and most outstanding peaks in the Southern United States.

All of the highest peaks in the Eastern United States are in the Southern Appalachians -- specifically in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee (Mt. Washington, the 17th highest peak in the Eastern United States, is in New Hampshire).

The South Beyond 6000 program is jointly sponsored the Carolina Mountain Club and the Tennessee Eastman Hiking and Canoeing Club.  Detailed information about the South Beyond 6000 program is stored on the Carolina Mountain Club's web site at http://www.carolinamtnclub.com/SB6K/SB6K Index.html.  An ascent record is available on our web site at http://www.tehcc.org/SB6K-log.htm.  The snailmail address for the TEHCC South Beyond 6000 representative is:
