The Tennessee Eastman Hiking and Canoeing Club (TEHCC) has been providing adventures for outdoor enthusiasts of northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia since 1946.  Headquartered in Kingsport, Tennessee, the club is organized under the auspices of the Eastman Chemical Company Recreation Club.  The TEHCC’s objectives are to provide hiking and paddling opportunities for its membership and to maintain the local hiking trails for which it has responsibility.

Hiking
TEHCC members have been hiking the southern Appalachians for decades.  Trips are regularly scheduled to beautiful hiking destinations like the Roan Highlands, Cherokee National Forest and Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Paddling
Where there are mountains, there are rivers and the southern Appalachians are no different.  TEHCC members regularly paddle down some of the best runs in the eastern United States like the Nolichucky, Watauga and French Broad Rivers.

Trail Maintenance
The TEHCC has responsibility for maintaining over 130 miles of the Appalachian Trail from Spivey Gap, NC to Damascus, VA.  Multiple maintenance trips are scheduled each month for clearing and relocating trail and shelter upkeep.
