Buffalo Mountain Park, created in 1994, is 725 acres located on the north slope of Buffalo Mountain, thus the trails are steep and forested.
Winged Deer Park, owned by Johnson City, was created in 1991 from the 200-acre farm donated by the J. Norton Arney family.  Now a recreational and historical complex with softball fields, disk golf course, hiking trails, early pioneer cabin, tree arboretum, and more.

#From just past the intersection of Cherokee Road (TN 67) and University Parkway (US 321) on Cherokee Road, turn on to Buffalo Road through Pine Oaks golf course.

#When Rolling Hills Drive ends, turn right on to Highridge Road.
#Drive to end of road and parking/picnic area.
This is the primary trailhead location.  There are two alternative access points.
