Birthday hike with my buddy. Triple logged with iOS Gaia, eTrex 10, and Forerunner 305  +
Out with the pups on a snowy morning.  +
New to the area, second family hike. Youngest hiker was 9, no issues. One Geocache along the trail, others in the immediate area.  +
Hiked from 321 to Watauga Lake Dam with the hiking club. This was a wonderful hike with the group. The weather was great and the views from the dam were wonderful.  +
Hiked with Teni Butler, Alex Lyttle, Rachel Stammen. Was a cool start to the hike but we got rained on with a lot of wind on the way back to the cars. Some sunshine in between the storm clouds dried us off a bit before getting back to the cars.  +
Hiked Dennis Cove to Watauga Lake on Apr. 24th with Jonathan Shumaker and Teni Butler. Hiked Watuaga to Wilbur Dam Rd on Apr. 30th with Ryan Haas and Mackenzie Manning.  +
We were able to log another 7.6 miles on the Appalachian trail last Saturday. Unfortunately we were caught in the rain just as we were crossing the dam on our return trip. Good times and lively conversation were had by all, and nobody died. Attendees, Jonathan Shumaker, Teni Butler, Alex Lyttle (leader), Rachel Stammen.  +
Teni Butler and Kyle Haas on the hike as well.  +
Weekend WPSP hike with dogs. This time with the family. Carrie went over the backbone hump while the rest went through the golf course to the trail. The cabin is now down. It appears due to the snow and not a final act of vandalism.  +
Took a little spur trail off to see if there was a connection to the mountain bike trails. Was great cool weather for a hike.  +
Enjoyed a lovely hike in the park with my family. I like this trail because of the diversity of things to see when linked up with Fall Creek loop.  +

This was an event that I organized through the Meetup group "East Tennessee Day Hikes/Peakbagging/Backpacking/Kayaking". It was an overnight backpack trip up Ewing Trail and across Ridge Trail to the Pinnacle. See trip vlog at https://youtu.be/h5me3y_XUrE. We stayed at Hensley Camp on Ridge Trail. There are a number of backcountry campsites, which you are required to stay in and require a free permit. The only other campsite I witnessed was at Gibson Gap. Hensley Camp was vastly superior; it is closest to the midpoint, has a potable water source at nearby Hensley Settlement, and a large even grassy area for tents. All campsites have bear hang cables and you need to use them. I've never seen so much large bear scat!  +
