Persimmon Ridge Park, owned by Jonesborough, was created in 1991 from the 200-acre farm donated by the J. Norton Arney family. Now a recreational and historical complex with softball fields, batting cage, disc golf course, hiking trails, early pioneer cabin, tree arboretum, fishing pier, and more.

All listed trails are easy rating with nature base (versus paved). A typical hiking route per a veteran walking a bulldog is to park at eastern end of Luke's Trail, hike it over to start of Walter's Trail, up and around, then over along the gravel road to the ballfields and finally cut back to parked vehicle.  The distance can be extended by heading west on gravel road to catch John's trail up to the water tower and back down along the trail itself.
